Thursday, June 16

Dusk Family night ~ Movie on a big screen at Readlyn Elementary lawn (weather permitting); concession stand ~ 8:30 – 10:00pm

Friday, June 17

8 am              “Grumpsters” Readlyn Annual Golf Tournament ~ 4 person best shot; (Wapsie Ridge Golf Course); reservations ~ 319-638-4653
4 pm-1 am       Beer Tent: ~ no charge for required wristband;no coolers or insulated cups
4 -7 pm            Face Painting by Amy Baker in the park; sponsored by Kids in the Park
4:30-7 pm        Ice Cream Sundaes (gazebo); sponsored by Readlyn Savings Bank
5 -8 pm            Balloon Man - Darrel Anderson; sponsored by Kids In the Park
5 pm                Vendors’ Food Stands open
5 pm                7th Annual Grump Cup Fireman’s Softball Tournament; (ball diamond) Concession stand – Wapsie Mat Pac
5 pm                Pedal Pull–(between the park and school); sponsored by Wapsie Valley FFA
6 pm                Little “Grumpsters” Crowning / Crowning of 2016 Readlyn
                       Grump, 2016 Miss Readlyn, and Outstanding Volunteer
                            (remember your lawn chair)
6 -8:30 pm      Pick up your packet for Glow Run/Walk in the City Park.
7 pm               Pepper Tourney (gazebo) no registration needed
8:30pm-12:30am Dance in the tent to “L&J Sound”
9 pm               5k Glow Run/Walk ~ Preregister at for $20.00 before June 17. Registration includesT-shirt, two glow                                    bracelets, and two beer tickets. (Must be 21 to redeem.)
                      Race will start on Main Street and head to the bike trail. The route will have many glow lights and bubbles. Sponsored by balance (Sheila Rosengarten),
                      Kwik Star, Waverly Health Center, Inspired, Precious Miracles,
                      and Scheels Professional Lawn Care. Contact LeAnn Cushion, with questions.
10 pm             Fireworks (Launched east of V49, Lavern Brase’s field; seating available on the east side of Zion Lutheran Church in the open lot.)  Remember your lawn                             chair. Free will donation for 2016 Fireworks which includes a
                      free pair of fireworks glasses for every $1 donated.
1 am               Beer Tent closes

Saturday, June 18

7 -9 am            Boy Scout Breakfast
10 am              PARADE (call Sylvia Carlson at 279-3446)
After Parade     Food Stands and Beer Tent open ~ no charge for required wristband; no coolers or insulated cups
11am – 2 pm    “Cedar Valley Blue Grass Band,” sponsored by Ron and Judy Leistikow
11am – 2 pm     Kids in the Park ~ $5 wristbands are required; carnival games, bouncy houses, Adrenaline Laser Tag, Game Truck from Des Moines
11am – 2 pm     Registration for Warrior Games Ball Park
11:30-12:30 pm Face painting sponsored by Kids in the Park and Readlyn Library
12-3 pm            Balloon Man ~ Darrel Anderson; sponsored by Kids in the Park
12:30 pm          Registration for Bean Bag Tournament for ages 19 and up; room for 32 teams ~ double elimination ~ $20 per team
1 pm                Bean Bag Tournament
1 pm                Schafskopf Card Tournament (tent)
1:30 pm           50/50 drawing opens for purchases ($5 per ticket/5 tickets for $20) Half the pot to the winner the other half to the Grump Days fund
2 pm                Sign up for Turtle Races & Cutest Baby Contest
2-5 pm             The Grump’s 1st Show & Shine (Cars, bike, & trucks, all years and makes) on Lobeck Ave., between 4th and 5th St. (DJ with a Beat providing music)                                  Sponsored by Janeen & Mike Tiedt
2:30 pm           Turtle Races- sponsored by Readlyn Garden Club
2:30-4 pm        Bingo for All Ages ~ (north end of the tent) prizes; no charge
3 pm               Warrior Games (Ball Park) Hosted by the Waspie Mat Pac
3-3:30 pm       Farmer’s Tan Competition (2nd stage near the center sidewalk) bring a lawn chair
3:30 pm          Cutest Baby Contest up to age 3 (2nd stage near the center sidewalk) bring a lawn chair
4:45 pm          Announce the winner of the 50/50 drawing (Mainstage) Must be present to win
5 pm              Magician
7:30 pm         Hypnotist – Ray Thompson (Rated PG-13) ~ May have adult content/theme
9:00 pm         Dance to DJ with a Beat
11 pm-??        Breakfast ~ free-will donation for Friends of the Wapsie Valley Athletics

Sunday, June 19

10:30 am        Community Church Service in the tent; remember your lawn chair.
                      Parking Locations: Main Street where unmarked, 4th Street, Wilmont Avenue, and Highland Avenue

Lost & Found and First Aid Kit are located at the wristband table.
Lobeck Ave. will be blocked off Saturday (All Day) from 4th St. to 5th St. next to the park
for the Show & Shine
