Hello and welcome to the Readlyn Community Library website. I hope that your library and informational needs will be met by this website. However, I would like to invite you to visit the library and see all we have to offer. The Library Board, the staff and I are committed to making our library the best that it possibly can be. We are continually evaluating and modifying our services, our collections and our programs to offer you the services you need. We work hard at providing programs and materials that will entertain and educate people of all ages and backgrounds.

I encourage you to let us know, either by e-mail, phone, note through the drop box or when you are in the building, how we can best serve you.  We are eager to receive your suggestions for programs and services.  Saying "YES!" is our goal.

I have lived in Readlyn, with my husband, Ken, since 1989. Our children, Greg and Molly graduated from Wapsie Valley (2006 & 2008) and have grown up (Molly is working toward her PhD in Chemistry at M.I.T. in Cambridge, MA; Greg is teaching High School Math at Tri-County School), leaving us with an empty nest and two rescued golden retrievers.   In my spare time, I can be found reading, solving Sudoku and Crossword puzzles, artsing and crafting, spending time with loved ones and cleaning up after pets.

I consider it a privilege to serve you at the library, a job I've held since 1998. I have earned my Library Certification Level III through the State Library of Iowa and have served on the Youth Services Advisory Board for 10 years. I enjoy interacting with patrons of all ages and the treasure hunt of finding what they are looking for. I love the variety and challenges each day brings.
I have been working with preschool children for over 35 years. Either in daycare situations, at church or at home raising my own 2 children and now at the library, I have enjoyed introducing preschoolers to wonderful books and songs. I have a short attention span too, so it's a match made in heaven!

If you have any questions, concerns or suggestion for improvements to the Library, please don't hesitate to contact me:
